First, carburizing plastic mold steel
Carburizing type plastic mold steel is mainly used for cold extrusion molding plastic molds. In order to facilitate cold extrusion molding, such steels must have high plasticity and low deformation resistance in the annealed state. Therefore, low or ultra-low carbon content is required for such steels. In order to improve the wear resistance of the molds, This kind of steel is generally carburized and quenched and tempered after cold extrusion and has a surface hardness of 58-62HRC. There are special steel types for such steels abroad, such as 8416 in Sweden and P2 and P4 in the United States. Domestic industry often uses pure iron (such as DT1 and DT2), 20, 20Cr, 12CrNi3A and 12Cr2Ni4A steels, and domestically-developed cold forming special steel 0Cr4NiMoV (LJ).
Second, hardened plastic mold steel
(A) Common steel and heat treatment
Commonly used hardened plastic mold steels are: carbon tool steel (such as T7A, T8A), low alloy cold work mold steel (such as 9SiCr, 9Mn2V, CrWMn, GCr15, 7CrSiMnMoV steel), Cr12 steel (such as Cr12MoV steel), high speed Steel (such as W6Mo5Cr4V2 steel), base steel and some hot work die steels. The final heat treatment of these steels is generally quenching and low-temperature tempering (a few use tempering or high temperature tempering), the hardness after heat treatment is usually 45 ~ 50HRC or more.
